Booking Advertising Space

At the point where advertising is booked and paid for, we book and secure your slots, known as airtime for the commercial airtime you have booked with us. These are your slots and once booked, we will not resell these anywhere else.

It is then your responsibility, to ensure we receive the relevant content to edit your commercial in time to ensure the slots you have booked airtime with for your commercial. If you do not, your airtime is still booked and charged for, therefore ensure time is available to ensure deadlines are met.

Our deadline to get your commercial on the program is 20th of the month before broadcast, this is NOT the time the bookings can be made, these must be made and paid for in full, in advance up to 8 weeks prior.

At the very outset, you would have received an email informing you all the information available about what is on offer,  Note, this IS our agreement with you, your email communication is bound is as ours and can be taken as “the agreement” we are entering into. We do not send contracts nor agreements, we do this via email and you accept this upon communication with us at all points. The agreement is up until the time the ad is approved and airtime slots are booked.

Cancellation of Commercials.

If for any reason you wish to cancel your airtime booking, this must be done 8 weeks  to the DEADLINE date, NOT broadcast date. As an example, if your commercial is booked to air for January, our deadline would be December 20th, your notice must arrive to us on or before 8 weeks to 20th December.

Trade Rates and reduced rates.

Where you have been offered trade or reduced rates, no refunds will be issued, you accept these rates and agree at time of booking to proceed.

Submission of Commercials

When submitting ready made finished commercials, these must be supplied to us in the format of .mov or .mp4 (1080p) format and be exactly 30 seconds or 60 seconds, depending on what you have booked and sent to us at least 4 weeks prior to airing after payment has been received.

Interviews.

We agree to conduct interviews as part of content for the program,, these are not charged and offered free of charge by us, clients are paying only to secure commercial airtime of their commercial. You understand although we agree to film an interview and have questioned answered, we will have full editorial content and decide what to use, when to use it or even IF we use it, interviews are offered free and form no part of this agreement and this is also in line with broadcasting standards, our invoice to you will also have stated FOC (Free Of Charge) next to the interview setion.

interviews are also for the purpose of adding value content to the program, and not for the purpose of advertising and nor are we obliged to broadcast what we film if we believe in the end its not suitable for our program OR any change happens otherwise.

Scheduling

Once everything is in place, our scheduling team will email you and advise of dates times and channels in advance of broadcasts of commercials and interviews, NOTE, these can change without notice at any time up to the point of broadcast and if this is the case, we will again inform you when the commercial or interview will run. It is very unlikely your TV ad would not run when you have been advised as these were pre-booked slots, interviews and content can and as these form no part of the agreement.

The agreement was clear, if you book a commercial with us, we will look to come and do an interview FREE and include this on a program as we feel it might be relevant to the program content, this does not mean we will broadcast any interview, we offer it free to see if it can add any value to us and our content, if not it wont be used, if it used, thats a bonus but we will endeavour to use interviews where we have travelled to film them at our own expense.

Masters

Once we edit your TV Commercial and interview, we are happy to supply you the master copies in .mp4 format for you to use as you wish on your social media, website and other places you see fit. We are happy to release license to you.

Editing of commercials, the process and your obligations with us

Once you have agreed to advertise within Discover Britain, there are 2 processes we go through and it is vital you are clear on both.

First we agree the booking you want, the financial amount you will be charged and length of airtime of your TV ad.   Next we will write you a script for the commercial or you can send one to us. Then we will ask if you will send images or video and once received, we will edit the commercial together with a voiceover and send this to you for approval. Once approved we send for broadcast to the schedule you have booked. Only at this point are you invoiced.

If you do not approve the commercial, as we have not charged for the editing of the commercial we will direct you to another company where you can have your TV commercial made, which may be charged for, of course, we will re-edit until you are satisfied. Once approved we then complete the booking send our invoice and then send your commercial to scheduling and arrange to record an interview, (free of charge) .

Where it appears that there may be a delay in you sending images, video or script approval to us, we may advise that we need to proceed to booking your airtime slots, this is done to prevent the slots being resold and to “hold them” for you. In this instance, we will send an invoice and book the slots booked, at this point your airtime is now “secure” and booked and will not be resold.

You must now ensure we receive your completed script approval, images and or video and logo within a specific time period, “the deadline”. If we do not, then your commercial airtime is still booked, your commercial will not run but you will still be charged the full amount payable as these are your slots. We will only consider a refund, less any charges incurred by us, 8 weeks prior to broadcast time, NOT deadline time and the reason for this is, we will not have time to resell the space, get the material we require and edit a commercial in time for the slots you have reserved, so it is important you understand this.

As part of these terms and conditions, it is important that you visit this website, prior to making any booking, reading our terms and conditions as once you agree in email to proceed, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions of business.

We do not send agreements to sign for bookings, all communication is conducted by email and telephone and your email communication and ours is taken in agreement.

Broadcasts

We do not supply programs online, nor do we reload them afterwards online nor supply clients with programs, the reason being is that in broadcasting, we license material for content and this does not permit us to share this information online. We therefore advise, when scheduling contact you by email advising the broadcast information for your commercial and or interview, you option to see it us by tuning in. If you miss it, there is nothing we can do about this and will not be held responsible for you miss tuning in. Be advised, that interviews are FREE, we do not charge for them due to regulations, we sometimes invite clients to do an interview as part of the content of a program, the editorial team may and can decide to change, remove, re-edit any interview at any time even if we stated it will appear, we have a right to change this.
